Field Trip!

Today a few of us met up at the Shooting Gallery to check out Greg Gossel's work-sadly, they had already taken it down for the next show. But we were able to check out the new exhibit and see the artists' installing the work! One of the artists, Paul Chatem, showed us his paintings, which have gears built into the work that actually function. Very cool. We also watched Mike Maxwell put the finishing touches on a portrait on one of the walls on his side of the installation. Worth checking out!

We then headed down to 49 Geary, where we saw the work of Kathryn Spence and Lora Fosberg. Kathryn Spence creates animals out of old towels, sand, cloth and pins. While Lora Fosberg paints environments filled with hurricanes, text, and tiny little details like golf clubs.
